Dr. Jonathan Watters, Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs
Dr. Jonathan Watters is the Company’s chief scientist and is responsible for licensing of new products and management of the regulatory process in the Asian region. Dr. Watters earned his doctorate in immunology at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was subsequently a regulator at the New Zealand Ministry of Health, where he was concerned with (among other things) assessment of vaccines. Jonathan joined SmithKline Beecham in 1990, and worked at that company’s Southeast Asia regional office in Singapore where he was Director, Medical & Regulatory Affairs, South East Asia. In 1993, he became Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, International and was responsible for pharmaceutical, vaccines and consumer healthcare products outside North America, Europe and Japan based in London. He returned to New Zealand in 1999 and served as a special consultant to SmithKline Beecham for regulatory, marketing, business development and government health opportunities. Jonathan joined BioPro Pharmaceutical in 2003.
Christina Wu, Vice President, Finance and Administration
Christina joined BioPro Pharmaceutical from GlaxoSmithKline in Taiwan where she had worked for the past 17 years, most recently as Finance Manager. In her long and successful career, Christina has developed expertise in global financial systems , global supply chain and procurement procedures. Her reporting lines have been both local and corporate-wide, including responsibility for management reporting to GSK International Headquarters. In her role at BioPro Pharmaceutical, Christina is based at our Asia regional office in Taipei and is responsible for all accounting, finance and administration for the Company’s operating units in Asia. Christina earned an accounting degree from Tam-Kang University in Taiwan
Isaac Tung, Director, Business Development
Isaac Tung, one of the Company’s first three employees, fills two important roles; he is Director of Business Development and Marketing, responsible for market research, product licensing, M&A opportunity, promotional and collateral and other marketing materials and coordination of the Company’s many educational programs around Asia. In addition, he is Director for Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia for commercial operations management. After earning his undergraduate degree from the School of Pharmacy at National Taiwan University, Isaac was involved with logistics management for drugs and medical devices for the Ministry of National Defense during his two year military service. He returned to National Taiwan University as a research assistant for neurological and cardiovascular agents while earning his Master’s Degree. He joined Rhone-Poulenc Rorer where he rose through positions of increasing responsibility prior to becoming Marketing Manager at Ye-Chen Trading Company and subsequently joined Servier where he reported to the Country Manager. Isaac has a broad experience in managing various products in the fields of cardiovascular & thrombosis, cardiology, neurology, oncology, infectious disease, and respiratory & allergy. Since joining BioPro Pharmaceutical in 2004, Isaac has been earning his MBA for Executives from National Chenchi University and received his degree in January 2006. Isaac Tung is a national certified pharmacist.
Kevin Lu, Manager, Regional Regulatory Affairs
Kevin Lu is the Company’s regional regulatory affairs manager for Northern Asia, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and China. Kevin joined BioPro Pharmaceutical from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Taiwan in June 2007. In his regional responsibilities, Kevin is responsible for all regulatory submissions, follow-up with country Regulatory Authorities, continuous product compliance and Government Affairs. While a Regulatory Affairs Associate at GSK, Kevin was responsible for Product registration and maintenance, obtaining Stage III validation approval for manufacturing sites, coordinating overseas GMP inspections & involvement in QA work and internal audit on contract manufacturers and distributors.
Kevin received his BS (2000) and MS (2005) degrees in Pharmacy from National Taiwan University and is a National Certified Pharmacist and a member of the Medical Regulatory Association of Foreign Pharmaceutical Companies.
